CIP Tank
CIP (Cleaning In Place) is a method used in dairy plants to clean pipelines, tanks, pumps, and heat exchangers by circulating hot soapy water in a closed loop without removing them from their locations. It is the most critical system for maintaining hygienic operations.

How the CIP System Works
The system typically follows these steps in a specific order:
Pre-Rinse: Warm water is circulated to remove milk residues.
Caustic (Alkaline) Wash: A caustic solution is circulated (typically at 70–80°C) to break down fat and protein residues.
Intermediate Rinse: Water is circulated to remove caustic residues.
Acid Wash: Acidic water is circulated to prevent milk stone and lime scale formation.
Final Rinse: A rinse with clean water is performed to ensure the system is completely clean.
